Before you
start.
Do I need a phone app?
No. Open TagQuill on your computer, choose Scan with phone, then scan the QR code with your phone. Allow camera access and take a photo. It appears in your inventory automatically.
What can I scan?
Product labels, stock packaging, spare parts and equipment nameplates, from your phone camera or JPG, PNG and WebP photos. TagQuill records only the printed details it can see. It does not read PDFs or videos, count unlabelled stock or track stock movements.
Can I use Excel or Google Sheets?
Download CSV or Excel (.xlsx), then open it in Excel or import it into Google Sheets. Custom layouts also offer JSON. TagQuill exports files; it does not sync directly with these tools.
Can I choose my columns?
Yes. Choose, rename and reorder columns, then save the layout for next time. You can also import headings from a CSV template.
What if it reads something wrong?
Check the details against the photo and correct any mistakes, or take a clearer photo. Blur, glare and small print can cause errors. Editing and exporting saved items use no extra credits.
How do credits work?
You get 50 free credits with no card needed. One processed item uses one credit. Buy more as you need them, or choose a monthly plan. Monthly credits expire at the end of each paid period; free and prepaid credits never expire.
